Dr. Arnab Chanda is an Associate Professor at the Centre for Biomedical Engineering, IIT Delhi, and a joint faculty at the Department of Biomedical Engineering, AIIMS, Delhi. He is also the founder of a start-up company, BIOFIT Technologies LLC, USA. He earned his PhD from the University of Alabama, USA, and has also been a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Pittsburgh, USA.
Dr. Chanda is an expert in Biomechanics, especially in Tissue Mimicking (Artificial Tissues) and Characterization, finite element modeling (FEM), robotics, wearable device development, and entrepreneurship.
To date, he has received the Young Researcher Award and Early Career Award from ASME, MHRD, and AO Spine International–Singapore, and Top-Cited Paper Awards from IOP Publishing and Wiley. He holds and has filed 10+ US and Indian patents, authored 8 books, and 100+ articles in reputed international journals.
Dr. Chanda is in the top 2% of scientists worldwide, according to the Scopus database from Elsevier and the Stanford University database, in both 2023 and 2024. He is serving as Associate Editor, Journal of Applied Biomaterials & Functional Materials, Associate Editor, Frontiers in Medical Engineering, editorial board member for Nature Scientific Reports, and principal member of the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS).

Professor Biswarup Mukherjee

Dr. Biswarup Mukherjee is an Associate Professor at the Centre for Biomedical Engineering, IIT Delhi with joint appointment at the Department of Biomedical Engineering at AIIMS, New Delhi. He is also an affiliate faculty at the Yardi School of AI, IIT Delhi and Department of Bioengineering, George Mason University, USA.
His research effort is focused towards developing multi-modal platform technologies for bionic and biorobotic control. He obtained a PhD in Electrical Engineering from IIT Madras in 2015. Thereafter, he was a postdoctoral research fellow at Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH), Boston, USA from 2015 to 2017.
He was a Research Assistant Professor with the Department of Bioengineering at George Mason University from 2017 to 2020. He was also an affiliate faculty at the Center for Adaptive Systems of Brain-Body Interactions at Mason. He has multiple US and Indian patents and has published extensively in top-tier journals.
He currently serves as an Associate Editor for IEEE Transactions on Medical Robotics and Bionics and on the editorial board of Nature Scientific Reports. His work has received several awards including Best PhD Thesis Award at IIT Madras, Innovation Discovery Award at MGH, and multiple best paper awards at top conferences worldwide.
Programme Sample Certificate


Participants will be awarded a Certificate of Successful Completion upon achieving an aggregate of 60% or more in the evaluation components and maintaining a minimum attendance of 70% in lectures and tutorials at CEP, IIT Delhi.
Participants who do not achieve 60% in the evaluation but maintain at least 50% attendance will be eligible for a Participant Certificate.
No certificates will be issued to participants with less than 50% attendance.
The above e-certificate is for illustrative purposes only, and the format of the e-certificate may be changed at the discretion of IIT Delhi.
The organising department for this programme is the Centre for Biomedical Engineering.
Only an e-certificate will be provided, and it will be issued by CEP, IIT Delhi.

Note:
*GST @ 18% will be charged extra in addition to the fees
The application fee of INR 1,000/- + 18% GST is non-refundable and non-transferable. This fee is in addition to the programme fee and will not be adjusted against the total programme fee.
Refund Policy
Candidates can withdraw within 15 days from the programme start date. A total of 80% of the total fee received will be refunded. However, the applicable tax amount paid will not be refunded on the paid amount.
Candidates withdrawing after 15 days from the start of the programme session will not be eligible for any refund.
If you wish to withdraw from the programme, you must email cepaccounts@admin.iitd.ac.in and crm.supportiitd@jaro.in, stating your intent to withdraw. The refund, if applicable, will be processed within 30 working days from the date of receiving the withdrawal request.
