Programme Modules

Participants will gain hands-on experience with the Ansys Lumerical simulation suite, a widely used industry-standard platform for designing and analyzing photonic devices and integrated optical circuits. They will learn how to set up simulations, and analyze optical and electrical behaviour in passive and active photonic components. The workshop will also cover interpreting simulation results, optimizing device performance, learning best practices, and understanding key design trade-offs in integrated photonics. No prior experience with the software is required, although a basic understanding of electromagnetics and optics will be beneficial.

His expertise lies in integrated photonics, where he focuses on manipulating properties of photons using nano-scale semiconductor structures. Prior to joining IIT Delhi, he served as a Senior Fellow at CERN in Switzerland, contributing to the design and development of high-speed optical communication links for the upcoming upgrade of the Large Hadron Collider. He conducted his post-doctoral research at UGent-imec in Belgium, where he evaluated nano-photonic devices for various applications. Dr. Pandey earned his Ph.D. from the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, specializing in semiconductor photonic device fabrication."
